Dr. R. Nandagopal, currently the Director of PSG Institute of Management, joined the Institute in 1994 and took over as Director in 2000. He received his Ph.D. in Finance in 1985 from the University of Madras. He has over three decades of academic experience serving in various capacities at leading institutions like Institute of Public Enterprise, Hyderabad and Loyola College, Madras. He has organized a number of Executive Development Programs for senior and middle level managers and has done consultancy work in the area of Financial Management and restructuring of organizations. He has published 75 articles in national and international journals and authored 17 books in Management. He is the founding member of ABBS and has held leadership positions in national and regional organizations that include AIMA, AIMS, CII, ICC, CMA and Productivity Council. He is presently a member of the ACBSP Baccalaureate/Graduate Degree Board of Commissioners. He has been awarded the Honorary Citizen of Toledo, Ohio, USA for his contribution to the Indo American Education Initiative. Under his stewardship, PSGIM has succeeded in transforming into a research institute, contributing to the academia and attracting several cores of research investment from various government and non-government funding agencies. A deeply passionate environmentalist, Dr. Nandagopal has spearheaded multiple initiatives including green campus and his contribution of note is the development of the Active Learning Program Center for action-based learning at Annaikatti for Management graduates and corporate. The Institute also has a vast portfolio of highly successful CSR innovations with focus towards upliftment of poor children.
