Derek Ricke is Principle Program Manager for High Plains Computing out of Denver, Colorado. He holds a BS degree in Geospatial Information Systems from the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, an MBA from University of California – Los Angeles with certificates in Finance and Entrepreneurship, and an AA in Mandarin Chinese Studies from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA as well as professional certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and Certified ScrumMaster (CSM).
Throughout his career, Derek has served in a variety of leadership positions in the Army, with assignments in Korea, Iraq, Germany, Italy, and Turkey, culminating as a Captain commanding a 150+ person company with responsibilities in Europe and the surrounding area. He has also had 4 years in the healthcare industry in quality management and project management roles and is currently responsible for all aspects of project and program management at his company, as well as advising clients on developing their project management programs.
For ACBSP, Derek has served as the public member for the Associates Degree Board of Commissioners since 2016, and endeavors to leverage his knowledge and experience from public and private industry to lend an outside perspective of process improvement into the thought processes of the Board of Commissioner meetings.
