Debra Jones is Assistant Dean for the Business, Education, Computer Technology, and Public Service division at Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She has been at OCtech for six years where she teaches Management, Logistics, and Economics. She is an adjunct Economics instructor at Northern Virginia Community College. She is currently the Principle Investigator on a three-year National Science Foundation project – Multidisciplinary Simulation: Educating Advanced Manufacturing and Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Technicians for a 21st Century Workplace. This project will connect business students with students in the advanced manufacturing program, giving them more hands-on experience in operations and supply chain management.
She was previously at Greenville Technical College in Greenville, South Carolina, and has also taught at the University of South Carolina and Piedmont Technical College in Greenwood, South Carolina.
She earned both an MBA and a Master’s in Applied Economics and Statistics from Clemson University.
Her industry experience includes accounting, industrial engineering, computer systems analysis, and warehousing.
She has two sons, two grandsons, and four granddaughters. She loves to travel and researching her family tree.
