Brian Cotton is director of Executive and Professional Education at Gardner-Webb University, and has an extensive background in higher education as well as public health. He began working at Gardner-Webb in the graduate admissions office in 2015 and later transitioned to his current role. His time at Gardner-Webb University was preceded by service at the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services where he managed an interdisciplinary team who provided services for people with intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Recreational Therapy from East Carolina University and was licensed as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist in 2007. He continued his academic studies, earning a Master of Business Administration in 2014 and a Master of Accountancy in 2018 from Gardner-Webb University. A life-long learner, he is currently beginning the Doctorate of Business Administration at Gardner-Webb University, Fall 2019. A dedicated family man, Brian enjoys time with his wife, Michelle, and two children, Rachael and Emma.
