Alice Milton is a native of Greenville, Mississippi. She is a graduate of Mississippi State University, Jackson State University, and Alcorn State University. She has received certifications from the University of Southern Mississippi, Samford University, and University of Alabama. Her current position is the Associate Dean for the Business and Information Technologies Division at Lawson State Community College in Birmingham, Alabama (21 years). She oversees the Accounting, Business Transfer, Business Management, Computer Science, Hospitality Services Management, and the Office Administration (General, Legal, and Medical Coding and Billing) degree programs in her Division—both Associate in Arts, Associate in Applied Science and Online. Students are also able to obtain short and long certificates in the program areas as well as industry certifications. One of Alice’s passions is building tomorrow leaders. Because of this, the students are introduced to all facets of business and industry and leadership skills from speakers, workshops, community service and fund-raising activities, etc. Kappa Beta Delta is the only honor’s program that the Division offers to the students. There is one major college installation of honor organizations’ new members in the fall of each school year. The Division’s students (All Majors) are active in KBD activities—both on and off campuses.
