The Role of Vulnerability in Instructional Excellence
Vulnerability has become a hot topic recently as people discuss how this courageous act empowers people to ‘show up’ authentically and holistically. Trust is also a valued leadership trait within corporate business because it encourages employees to take risks, share information, and ultimately become more effective and productive (Robbins and Judge, 2013). If vulnerability is an important characteristic in today’s marketplace, then how should business professors appropriately integrate vulnerability into the college classroom? This presentation explores the practice of appropriate vulnerability to prepare business students to become leaders who are able to build trust within the workplace.
