Best of Region Presentation from Region 3.
Ignite students’ entrepreneurial spirit and hone their business skills as participants in an Entrepreneurship and Elevator Pitch Competition, which may be strategically integrated into a business curriculum. The evolution from concept to implementation of such a competition is presented and explored. This presentation will offer insight into the integration of an Entrepreneurship and Elevator Pitch Competition into the business curriculum at the University of Mount Olive, the logistics/administration and marketing of the annual event, and the specifics of the operations of the competition. Handouts will include the flyer used to market the event and rubric used to judge student’s performance. Beyond class assignments and projects, this presentation introduces a means by which to (a) further advance entrepreneurship and hone student’s business skills via a business-centric competition and (b) serve as a catalyst for student and faculty engagement outside the classroom.
