Classroom Role Models: The Effects of Professor Gender on Non-Traditional Student Success and Retention

Five years of registrar data shows that instructor role models and peer groups significantly affect student persistence in the major and classroom performance.  This is particularly true of female students and minority male students.  Implications for Universities will be discussed.
